How to measure your bra size
Believe it or not, 80% of women use size bra. The most common mistake is to use a stripe size is too large, and / or cup size is too small. Although average bra size is often cited as 36 º C, most people who use this size should really wear a bra 34D or 34DD. Cup sizes are relative the size of the band, so a D cup, for example, is not the same size in every bra. A 32D is the same size as a 36B or 34C, but a smaller frame. The 28F is actually two cup sizes smaller than a 38D. You can not see you as being busty, but to move to a larger size small band is in need of a larger cup size.
Changes in size bra as your weight fluctuates with the seasons and years. Sometimes So you've long been a specific size not realize that is not more and not notice the discomfort. If you are looking for a better adjustment, here is how to find your size.
Important note – measurements used in the steps in this guide refer to the size of bra the United Kingdom. Although U.S. bras are theoretically companies within the same system, there is considerable variation between brands, if you are United States you may find you need a larger size band and / or a small cup size shown here. For example, a 32E UK can be equivalent a U.S. 34DD or 36D.
Measure the size of the bands
PROCEDURE
- Use your best bra. Bra not match perfectly. The goal is to get your breasts to the position that the ideal bra would support, with weight suspended comfortably. This step is optional, however, if you can not find a bra with good support, to continue the measurements.
- Measure the size of your group. Run a tape measure around your body just below your breasts and take measurement in inches. Make sure the tape measure is horizontal and fairly comfortable. Your arms should be down. Round to even numbers. This should be the size of his group. For example, if you measure 31 inches, the size band should be 32. If you measured 34.5 inches, the size of band should be 34.
Many guides will tell you that the appropriate support to add four or five inches to measure under the breast, but this is not correct. The old method was designed in the 1930s when bra design was in its infancy and does not work with modern fasteners.
Calculate the size of the Cup
3. Measure your round bust. Extent loosely around the largest part of your bust in inches (not too hard or far is false). If you do not have a bra, or if you have very loose, consider if your back is parallel to the floor and measure around your chest above your nipples. Around this measure until the closer.
4. Calculate your cup size. Subtract the measurement of the size of the band bust measurement and determine the size of the cup as follows: (The calculation of the size of the cup may be less precise size mug.)
- 1. less than 1 inch = AA cup
- 2. 1 inch = A cup
- 3. 2 inches = B cup
- 4. 3 inches = C cup
- 5. 4 inches = D cup
- 6. 5 inches = DD cup
- 7. 6 inches = E cup (U.S. DDD)
- 8. 7 inches = F cup (U.S. DDDD)
- 9. 8 inches = FF cup
- 10. 9 inches = G cup
4. Try a bra with the size of the band and cup size you are in these stages. Because it can be large variations in how bras are manufactured as well as differences between different styles of bras, size must be the point of departure.
5. Check the size of the band. The band size is the smallest right, you can use with ease. Should be enough tight so that the bra is still a lot of support, without increasing the straps.
1. You should be able to run your fingers along the inside band, but not much else.
2. It should fit in better alignment, but will probably be very tight if you try located in the smallest size. Bras are designed to adapt and make room for the bra to stretch after using few times.
3. If the tape is painfully tight, even at the highest setting, then go up a band size (and down a cup size to compensate). For example, if a 32D is too tight, try a 34C.
4. If the belt is loose enough for you to be able to fit comfortably in most tightly as possible, try with a small group (for example, 32D -> 30DD).
5. Check the size of the cup. The size of the cup is large it can not correct completely fill. You must fill out the cups, but does not excel anywhere.
- 1. Check both the bra top and sides of the foreground.
- 2. Make sure the cable contains within it all and is flush against the rib cage.
- 3. If the cup size is too large, decrease in size.
If it is too small, or even if it seems appropriate, try a larger cup, check it again.

Tips
- This applies to the United Kingdom but can be translated into action in support of other countries using a calculator bra size internationally. U.S. size can vary a little – you may need a larger band size and / or a cup size smaller brands in the United States.
- Cup sizes above D tend to vary much less reliable for manufacturers. Some brands go to the next letter of the alphabet for every inch added, while other brands, you can simply add the same letter for every inch.
- A bra should support narrow band, straps. You should be able to remove their belts and still feel supported by the bra.
- Always try before you buy a bra and keep an open mind on size.
- You can find your bra size without a tape measure. If you already wear a bra that seems to fit well in the cup, but is wider by the band, you can download a band size and cup size to a size that can barely stand – it's good size. (For example, 36C – 34D -> 32DD)
If you have uneven cup sizes, go with the large face. You can support in smaller, making the shoulder strap a little shorter, or, alternatively, you can cup filling.
DO NOT
- As mentioned earlier, this is just to give you a rough idea of what size to try first. Women come in all shapes and sizes, and size Bra can be affected by the proportions of the new breast shape, pectoral muscle mass, and so on. All these factors may interact to affect the size of your bra in a way that is impossible to predict.
- Ignore anyone who claims to be able to say with certainty the size of their actions – especially if you say add a few inches from the chest to be low. As the dress size, size bra has changed Over the years, and the former method does not work with modern fittings.
- If you were informed of their size, but now find that different size fits better, just wear the appropriate size! The adjustment is more important than the number on the tape measure.
