Labret stud size for ear cartilage piercings?
Hi,
I’ve had 4 cartilage piercings for about 3 years now, however I find BCRs very annoying as I tend to accidentally pull them out of my ear when brushing my hair etc… and getting the ball back in is always a pain. I’ve tried regular butterfly back earrings too but again these dig into the side of my head when laying down so I thought about trying labret studs as they have a flat back.
I was thinking of getting a 1.2mm labret stud with either a 6, 8 or 12mm bar length. If anyone could give some insight into what bar length would be best it would be appreciated. The width of my cartilage is about 4-5 mm thick.
Thanks.
I use 1.2 mm diameter, 6mm length for my conch piercings. I also wear 1.6mm diameter, 6mm length in my lobes / cartilage piercings. I tried 8mm length and they were a bit too long for me, but that said, the 6mm can be a bit tight in some of my holes. Not sure if this is much help to you, but wearing these is so much more comfortable than any other jewellery.
