Do you have sensitive ears and have a difficult time finding earrings your can wear comfortably? With a few helpful tips you can find genuine solutions to getting earrings for sensitive ears. The simple truth is that many of us who have sensitive ears are not able to tolerate most metal earrings. There are earrings made to address this problem. However, people with skin sensitivities may not understand how and where they can find suitable earrings for their sensitive ears.

If you have skin sensitivity, consider looking for the term “hypoallergenic” on the earring label and you will be off to a good start. To find hypoallergenic earring sources, try entering the term “hypoallergenic earrings” into a search engine and search online. Chances are high that you will find numerous sources for your needs. Do some further research to learn if the earrings are “nickel free” and if the store or manufacturer offers a guarantee against skin reactions.

Be careful as some products labeled “hypoallergenic” may be made with metal alloys. While these metal alloys may contain very small levels of nickel, these nickel levels may still be enough to cause a reaction for some people. Some people with skin sensitivities can tolerate small amounts of nickel while others are so sensitive, they cannot tolerate any degree of nickel in the earrings they wear. For them, it is important to narrow the earring search to include only silver and gold earrings, especially those labeled “nickel free”.

Unfortunately, a common misconception is that inexpensive earrings will always have high nickel content. It’s simply not true. If you are drawn to more expensive earrings to avoid the nickel, you may be surprised to find you are still unable to wear them. If you are planning on buying earnings that cost more than fifty dollars in the hopes they will work with your sensitive ears, be sure to read the label or website to learn if they are, in fact, nickel free.

The good news is that there are a number of dedicated websites that offer earrings to people sensitive to even the gentlest of metals. In fact, some of these websites are owned by people who they themselves had problems regarding their sensitive ears. They personally understand what others with similar problems have to endure to find the right earrings and they offer suitable solutions.

The best earrings for sensitive ears are those made primarily from a special kind of metal: surgical quality stainless steel. This is the same metal used in instruments, equipment, and supplies found in surgical and medical procedure rooms. By necessity, this metal used for medical procedures must not cause a skin reaction. Add a layer of gold on top of the surgical stainless steel for beauty, and you have a winning combination for those with skin sensitivities.

If you have sensitive skin, as long as you are careful to choose nickel free earrings, ideally choosing those made with surgical stainless steel, you will both look good and feel comfortable wearing your jewelry.

i pierced my ear and i think it’s infected…?

Okay so 3 days ago i pierced my own left ear, using a safety pin and real silver earring [purcahsed from a quality jewelery store] i didn’t properly sterilise the equipment, i thought it would be fine. I HAVE BEEN SPRAYING IT 3 TIMES DAILY. it’s been fine since the day i pierced it, but a bit sensitive. except this morning i looked in the mirror and there was some pus leaking from under the earring.

I wouldn’t mind not having the piercing, i might even take it out, but will it get an infection if i take it out?

. What is the best thing for me to do? [take it out and let it close over, or leave it and continue taking care of it?]
.What are the risks of taking out the earring?
.What methods can i use to prevent infection?

Leave the earring in, and wipe the hole area many times a day with hydrogen peroxide.
