cleaning sterling silver black onyx jewelry?
I have necklace and bracelet made of sterling silver (925), and they both have inlaid black onyx stones as well. I heard about a cleaning method involving water, salt, and baking soda for tarnished sterling silver, and many people seem to think that works well. However, I don’t know how this method would affect the black onyx stones. Would anyone recommend a safe way to clean both the sterling silver and the black onyx?
the best would be to get a silver cleaning cloth and just polish them with that one. You cannot damage any stones with it. You can also take a dry cloth and baking soda and polish (firmly).
