What makeup/nail polish to wear with a black dress?
I am no good with makeup and I dont want to go get it done by someone else (because last time they put way too much and it looked too fake).
i’m wearing this dress: http://i51.photobucket.com/albums/f364/x0cristina8/DSCN1522.jpg
with black heels, black earrings, black/silver bracelets, silver necklace, curly/wavy hair
i was thinking of wearing like a silvery eyeshadow or eyeliner but im not sure yet. any tips?
i have light skin, light brown hair, and dark brown eyes, if that helps at all
also where to apply it?
and what color nail polish should i wear?
i was thinking maybe red or pink so it would stand out but i also thought maybe silver would be cute.. got any ideas?
ps- im 15 going on 16 so not too much eye makeup because i dont want to look fake/slutty at homecoming
Eh… be original, not all black!
I would have worn plum colored heels, gold earrings, simple gold chain necklace. Odd number of colored enamel bracelets. Classic is safe, though, and the pieces are versatile for other occasions.
Makeup: Brown eyes? Try plum eyeshadow (I know, I am obsessed with the color plum) because it really brings your eyes out (same with hazel eyes). Line your eyes top and bottom with the same shadow, then add 1 coat mascara. Black eyeliner on top.
Cheeks: Natural blush, just for light color, not drama.
Lips: A neutral more pink toned lip gloss. A stain works well too, and you can apply balm or gloss on top.
Hair sounds nice, but what about a wispy, flowing, updo? I believe CosmoGirl had a look inspired by Natalie Portman, where you take the portion of your hair that would be bangs (if you had them), and twist them, moving back onto your head. Twist into a small coil and pin . (this updo shouldn’t be slick and smooth, it should be wavy and loose so the coil doesn’t looks stupid) Twist the back of your hair into a chignon.
Focus on your eyes, even though you’re not applying a lot.
Nails would be nice in bronze…
