Bracelet Platinum

Popularity of Platinum Engagement Rings
Platinum’s popularity is evident everywhere. Its scarcity and beauty has made it somewhat of a status symbol. Indeed, 2004’s Golden Globe awards were defined by its very visible presence on the red-carpet. Movie and TV stars adorned themselves in the latest platinum trends as celebrity stylists were given the chance to select from over $6 million dollars worth of jewellery from the Platinum Guild International and InStyle magazine luxury range.
Platinum drop earrings, right hand rings, layered necklaces, diamonds and large coloured gemstones were all on display as stars paraded themselves on the red carpet.
Jewellery designer Neil Lane decked out Golden Globe winner Charlize Theron in platinum and diamond bracelets, while Jennifer Garner sported platinum and diamond cuff bracelets.
Mr Lane, who specialises in platinum, explained he adores the metal for its ‘elegance, purity and romance’. Meanwhile, jewellery house Harry Winston provided Golden Globe nominee Kim Cattrall with platinum and diamond cluster earrings and stackable bracelets.
Presenter Melanie Griffith opted for a Harry Winston design, showing off a pair of platinum and diamond stiletto earrings. Actress Helen Hunt also rounded off her look with a Harry Winston platinum and diamond oval line bracelet, and vintage platinum and diamond brooch. While Jennifer Aniston outfitted in platinum and diamond drop earrings and a stack of platinum and diamond line bracelets from celebrity designer Martin Katz.
Other stars to sport the latest platinum fashions at the awards ceremony included Uma Thurman and Jamie Lee Curtis.
The trend among the top stars for the metal suggests that platinum remains en vogue in the fashion industry, with consumers following their lead.
But it’s not just Hollywood A-listers understanding the prestige that platinum displays. Recording artists often brag about platinum in songs and pose for photos wearing large platinum rings and necklaces. Adding to their already “blinged” up appearance. Credit card companies also now offer platinum credit cards, which are a step above gold cards. It’s clear to the world over that there is a new number 1 in town.
Gold has finally been displaced as the most precious of precious metals. The demand for platinum engagement rings is so high and its presence in recent headlines and in the outfits of those most photographed will have played a huge role in this. It’s true that platinum engagement rings are more expensive than those made of gold but the benefits justify the price. Platinum engagement rings outlast most other precious metals. This is noticeable in jewellery items that feature gold and platinum, the gold elements will always wear-out before the platinum. The strength and reliability is one reason why platinum costs more than gold.
Consumers increasingly understand that platinum engagement rings are also a serious financial investments and like any worthwhile investment, they pay for themselves over time. Platinum engagement rings require occasional care but remain in excellent condition for many years. Value for money, status and reliability has combined for a surge in popularity for these beautiful rings, who knows what will come next.
