Gold Beauty Jewellers: Wedding Fashion

Most people want to wear something a bit special on their wedding day, normally something girly and sparkly that enhances the rest of the wedding outfit. The trouble is that people often buy jewellery that they wouldn’t normally wear so after the wedding they don’t know what to do with it. Here are a few tips for getting the most out of your wedding jewellery;
1. it’s your big day and you want to splash out and be extravagant. However try to buy a piece of jewellery you love and that you will wear again. Even if it’s not a piece you will not wear everyday, then at least you can wear it on special occasions and to parties. Pearls are a good choice, simple, timeless, they can be dressed up or down and can be worn time and time again, for example http://www.goldbeauty.org/design.shtml
2. Don’t buy anything too high fashion or that is going to date quickly, particularly if you have a classic dress.
3. Try to avoid anything really sparkly, however tempting, as it will cause a flash back in your wedding photos. Swarovski crystal is a good choice as though it is sparkly it is often teamed with other materials which reflect the colours within it.
4. If you have got a lot of embellishments on your dress then opt for simple jewellery that doesn’t detract from the detailing on the dress.
5. Simple rule – if you are planning to wear your hair up and away from your face make the earrings the focus. If you are wearing your hair down make the necklace your focus.
6. Never wear large earrings and a large necklace together.
7. Try not to wear too much jewellery – it should be worn to enhance your outfit not over shadow it. There is a wealth of beautiful and unusual jewellery available in the Gold Beauty Jewellers both online and in the shops so if you look hard, you are sure to find your perfect piece that you can wear on your special day and time and again!

Solid gold vs plated?

I am looking to buy lockets as presents for my mum and mum-in-law. Thing is it has proven difficult for me to find lockets in solid gold. I found a fantastic locket which has 4 photo compartments (which my mum in law can keep all her grandkids in) but it is 14k plated and the only solid gold is in the designs. I am wondering if gold plated jewellery is considered junk jewellery as maybe it isn’t as good as the real thing? I dont own any or any cubic zirconias because I will always go the extra mile to get the real thing for fear of anything else being worse quality and breaking. Do you think plated gold can still be kept as a treasured gift and would you pay $80 for a gold plated pendant?

keep searching for a locket in either 14 karat or 10 karat gold, it is well worth the extra money. gold plated items need to be re-plated to keep them looking gold. they also require special care to keep them looking good (ie remove them before showering, clean them in a mild solution, keep them away from ultrasonic cleaners, etc.) $80 sounds kinda high for a gold plated piece, you should be able to find a nice locket in 14kt or 10kt for around $200. solid gold will stay looking nicer for longer, allowing her to wear it for a long time; this way, she’ll always remember you and the gift you gave her.
