Its Time To Change Our Wardrobe Apparel Trends Forecast – 2009/10
Hardly a month has lapsed, since the dawn of 2009. As per the adage, “Ever-changing is the unchangeable law”, apparel segment is not an exemption. Whether or not, we are conscious about the fact, our everyday decision of what to wear depends to a considerable extent on the current apparel trends. Generally two basic facts fuel the change in apparel trends; novelty and conformity. Everyone likes to wear something new, and simultaneously, many of us like to keep pace with our traditional attires as well. While there is no crystal ball to have an appropriate forecast, runways, and ramp shows can be helpful in predicting the trends.
This year will see vibrant and dynamic shades and apparel patterns which does not have a trace of the previous year. On the contrary, a few other trends emerge, which will pull out old clothes from the back of the closet. Colors themes revolve around jewel tones and tinted neutrals. Natural fabrics like organic cotton in hues of vanilla to a hint of deep blue will be seen. Simultaneously, rich and vivid colors ranging from red, gold, to black with an Eastern influence will also be in fad. Womenswear is filled with darkened decorum and floral patterns. Menswear is getting a feminine makeover in delicate fabrics. Shawl collars, and asymmetrical hems will put a twist on every piece of clothing.
Color Scheme:
Apparel colors are more of neutrals. Hues of mineral and stone provide a solid and natural base with solar orange and hot pink. Pink or magenta will be the color of the year. Followed by this will be the combination of black and white. Bordeaux, aubergine, and deep purples will also be seen of fashionable attires. Fuchsia red will be a great shade for cool skin tones. Skits, shirts and day dresses will be seen in bold colors to soft hues. Tunics and dresses will be seen in gorgeous designs and bold colors. Basics like skirts and pants will be in soft neutrals paired with new spring colors.
Stylish Separates:
The old ‘mix-and-match’ look will make a re-entry. The secret of dressing well and also in a reasonable small budget depends on the choice of wardrobe with coordinated colors, and shapes that are interchangeable. Ensembles such as skirt, and pant sets allows mixing and matching, making a perfect capsule of clothing for oneself. A basic bottom with new tops or shirts will give a completely different look each day. This will give an unpretentious and remarkable appearance. Getting Trendier with Floral Apparels:
Apparels with floral prints will be in full bloom, this year, especially this spring and fall. Floral outfits are the best to welcome the season of spring. Frocks with crisp lines and bold shoulders will bring back the ‘dynasty days’. For women who are fond of ethereal styles, goddess frocks with floral prints will be seen in store racks. An imbalance in neck to the hemline will be seen. Tops for Comfort and Style:
Tops have to be not only cozy, but also be stylish with appealing hues and patterns. 2009 will be the year of reformatted printed tops. Floral prints of lilies, lotuses etc will on metallic fabrics will be in vogue. Hues of bronze, gold, and copper will be in tops. A classy top in steel hue would suit the women who prefer to look gritty. Green Garments:
This trend will be more than being ‘just a passing fad’. Organic style of garments, grown without the usage of synthetic fertilizers and pesticides will retain its popularity and more focus will be on sustainable apparels. Recycled fabrics such as recycled plastic bottles into apparels have taken the forefront of fashion. Runways are placing recycled fabrics in the spotlight, and are giving it a strong debut. For any women, choosing the right pair of trouser is an absolute necessity. Wide legged pants will be in fashion complementing women with long legs. Darker colors will be the best choice. Leather pants will give the ‘bold and the beautiful’ look being a hit in the winter and the following spring as well.
Fashion and fads always keep changing, manipulated by couture creations of designers, celebrities and peers. Changing trends in apparels are also influenced by the economy. Bad economy makes creative people, and scarcely available materials make people to improvise them, thus creating a new trend. Magazines, websites, and stores are jammed with trendy and gorgeous looking apparels year and after year. It is upto us to sort through the trends, and classics and find clothes to suit our choice.

and what will match with the most things and colors?
i have sweats, skinny jeans/pants, skirts/leggings, tights, long tunics, a black pea coat, a red/black/silver ski jacket, I HAVE CLOTHES OF ALL COLORS[heck i even have bright green]

They are awsome with any colored skinny jeans … I have a pair and they go so well while my goldish ones are selective with what I wear and don’t go with the dark colored skinny jeans that I have.
With black .. definitely choclate …
grenn —– choclate is the best combination and never gold and I cannot imagine pewter going well with it unless you are out clubbing and its night ….. not for day time wear people will just stare at you … those two colors are bit too gaudy
chocolate also goes GREAT with red, blue, yellowish, creamish, colors and honestly I can’t think of a color that it doesnt go with right now …. even with grey and silver (certain looks though) it can match.
So my choice is choclate and I personally wouldn’t buy gold again and so my advise is forget about gold … I can only wear it with two outfits and I rarely wear them.
