I go to a department store, probably Kohls, since you return items at a seperate customer service department.
I buy two similar items of jewelry, one that costs two hundred dollars, and one that costs fifty dollars and is like a cheaper version of the other.
I go home, put the fifty dollar piece in the box of the two hundred dollar one and return it a few days later.
Since returns are done at the customer service department, the clerk probably would not notice the difference, he/she would not have the trained eye of the jeweler
I would pay for the two items in seperate transactions, so the receipt would bear only the two hundred dollar item. I walk away with one hundred and fifty dollars, in the end paying only fifty for the watch.
Could this work why or why not?.
